It was so nice to actually be able to purchase groceries. Because of anticipating the move, actually moving, and then being in temporary-temporary housing, we have been eating all of our meals out. While this might have suited 19-year-old Ellen just fine, 32-year-old Ellen was eager to get back to seeing the ingredients individually before eating the delicious meal. Even grocery shopping was fun: being in a suburban grocery store with its double-digit aisles and ample parking, hunting out my standbys as well as discovering new treats to sample.
Today, even though we aren't in our own bed yet, it was nice to wake up and not have to scan through the few restaurants we know of up here that might possibly be having brunch - and which ones might be open before 10am. Instead, by the time I had made it out of bed, Stephen had already pulled out his favorite ingredients - and had gotten us well on our way to homemade eggs, cheese and toast heaven.
