Jan 24: Organize

I want to buy the entire Container Store

We went today to get a closet organizing system. Our house has pretty good storage - not a ton, but way more than we are used to in the city. But we have pretty lame clothes storage. The bedroom closets are small and awkwardly wedged in under the sloping portions of the roof. When we designed the remodel of the bathroom, we used the only walk in closet of the entire house - in the smallest bedroom - to expand the floorplan. Although we built a new, coat-closet sized closet for the room, we put shelves in it - for what makes the most sense for an office. I'm not describing it well - but basically, we decided the smallest bedroom was going to be part small office, part gigantic closet.

We purchased the "elfa" modular closet system and at a fraction of the cost to get a custom closet, we designed our own space exactly to what we need. It was so awesome. They had a little autocad type program so we could move things around and rearrange. And the instructions were more straightforward than a piece of IKEA furniture. I love the slide-out shoe racks. And the left side will be for office equipment like printers and servers.

You know it's a good marriage when you can not only decide on a major design layout for a room, but then build it yourselves without one fight, snip or bicker.
