Today we went down to Baltimore to see some of Stephen's family and help his awesome cousin with some marketing ideas for her health food cafe, catering and wholesale business. I really like Stephen's family - they are really good people and amazing chefs. Always a fun and tasty time.
When we lived in Brooklyn, it was a toss up whether we'd fly or drive to Baltimore, but now that we live closer to the aiport and farther driving distance, it is a no-brainer to fly. I say it over and over, but really - it is so handy to have a pilot for a husband. And today, he took it up a notch.
On the way back, it was a beautiful, clear night. So he took me on a romantic sight-seeing diversion. We turned down by the Verrazano bridge, banked left up the Hudson, turned right across Central Park and then headed up to the White Plains airport. We were at 1500 feet and the views were incredible. Breathtaking. As we flew across Manhattan, you could see clear down the entire avenues from the top of the island to the bottom. The city at once looked enormous and tiny. Inspiring and intimidating. Peaceful and hectic.
Truly a special moment.
