Today, we got a foot of snow. We decided to take it easy and stay home. After some snow-shoveling cardio, we tromped off into the neighborhood into the Audubon sanctuary that is behind our house. The entrance is about a half mile down the road - which was virtually empty because of the snow fall, and incredibly quiet - and the whole park is just over 30 acres. We followed along the trails and then broke off at the far end and headed across a frozen stream, past a fire hydrant (yes, in the middle of the woods!), and up into our backyard. It was beautiful out - so peaceful - and a totally fun way to spend the afternoon.
