I have found myself in the city 1-2 times a week, on average. But today, I went in with Stephen - for our friend Maurita's birthday. We ate at Counter, an upscale vegetarian & vegan restaurant in the East Village.
After some good food, great conversation, and a sampling of some tasty (yes, tasty) vegan cake (pictured), we headed to St Marks to Maurita's sister Melissa's place (where Maurita used to live until she bought her place in Ditmas Park). Melissa had picked up a sampling of minicakes from the bakery - and we carved them up and had a delicious tasting. I love good friends and I love cake!
