Our power estimate was revised yesterday to Tuesday at 11pm - with ConEd "hopeful" that it would be back on sooner. So Stephen grabbed Kitty and headed over to our friend's house where we stayed when we first moved up. It was nice to be in a familiar place - but frustrating to not be home, and all it had over our place was heat & lights - no cable, no internet, no food in the kitchen.
Today we got up and went to our other home-away-from-home - the diner. I have to say, this is one of the better diners I've been to. The food is good, it's comfortable, it's convenient, and it's cheap. Well, compared to other options. I'm surprised they don't recognize us yet - we're there at least once a week. It was pretty busy today, and gigantic dumps of snow kept sliding off the roof past the windows. But the food was just as good.
And, the best part - we drove by our house on the way back to Kitty and not only was the power on, but the house had already heated all the way back up. Judging by the clocks, it went back on around 10pm last night. hooray!
