We woke up to no power - and the house had already cooled 5 degrees, so we knew it had been off for a while. We decided to wait it out for a little bit and Stephen brought his sleeping bags up from the basement so we'd be warm. It was fine for a while, but after a few hours we realized how much our lives revolve around electricity. We didn't even want to open the fridge for fear of letting the cold air out and spoiling the food.
When we got word that power wasn't going to be back on until Saturday at 8pm, we decided to move to a hotel in White Plains for the night. Where I got to indulge in one of my favorites: room service. Not a bad way to turn lemons into lemonade!
