We went up to the north shore of Massachusetts for Easter at my (great) Aunt Jane and Uncle Johnny's house in Manchester-by-the-sea. Their annual Easter party is always my favorite family gathering of the year - all of the extended family gets together at their house on these breathtaking cliffs overlooking the ocean. The menu is always the same (mmm, ham) and there are lawn games for the kids to keep them busy until it's time for the egg hunt and Fox & Hound game.
This year is the last that will be hosted here, as the party has swelled to over 70 people as the generations expand. And Jane & Johnny decided it was time to pass the torch. It meant a lot to me that Stephen flew us up so we could attend the final hurrah - and it's always fun to see my family through an outsider's eye... this was the first time Stephen met many of the cousins. And he noticed fun things I had never really picked up on.
The weather was gorgeous and the flights were beautiful in both directions. All in all, a great day.
