September 6: Jungle

We did lots of work to get the baby's room in order this weekend. Stephen (bless his heart) shouldered the brunt of it, since I'm not particularly mobile these days. We ended up with a jungle theme sort of not on purpose, but we're thrilled with how it turned out. We just chose the sheets that we thought were super cute and it has kind of spread from there. Who knew it'd end up looking so put together?

My dear friend Vanessa handed down her glider rocking chair to us and when she was poking around our registry, she noted the theme and also loaned us some paintings she had done for her sons' nursery. She had a jungle theme as well and she's a very talented graphic designer and painter -- originally I thought these were professional prints. And really, they could be -- but they are actually paintings that she did herself. It really makes the room feel like a cozy nursery.

Just a few more things -- some stuff was back ordered until October -- and the room will be complete. But it's now officially "really close" to complete, and plenty set-up for baby's arrival. 3 weeks!!
